Mother's Day Celebration Ideas
A great way to celebrate with the special women in your life this year is to cook with them. Throughout generations women have learned to cook from each other whether it was a mother, grandma or a neighbor woman. Recipes have been passed through generations, so spend this Mother's day passing on family recipes to the women, daughters or girls in your life.
Fun Ideas of what to do for Mom
- Plan a getaway even if it is only pretend. You can present her with a menu, homemade card and feed her with Dad's help. You can find international recipes for your pretend trip.
- Have a potluck party with Mom, other family members and friends
- Create Mom a handmade gift she will cherish no matter what it is. You can get ideas in our Craft Recipes or Kids Sewing Projects
- Help with Chores. This is a free way to get mom really excited about Mother's Day. What mom doesn't like to be surprised or even have a helping hand in cleaning, gardening, washing windows or washing her car.
- Pamper her. How about giving mom an at home spa. Manicures, pedicures or facials are all easy to do at home and fun!
- You can find some tea party ideas or breakfast in bed recipes to try on Mom.
- Need lunch ideas see the recipes we've included in this newsletter
Kids Cooking Camp
I'm working on this summer's Kids Cooking Camp. Each summer this has been a big success and I've really loved putting it together. I'll have details next month but if you would like to see past kids cooking camps see the following page...

Menu Planning
Do you need help with menu planning? I have just added this section to Kids-Meal-Ideas.com on meal planning ideas. You can get ideas on how and why you should menu plan as well as a chance to share your menus with others in our Menu Exchange Forum. Please check it out and help other moms (and dads) solve the mystery of "what's for dinner."
Mother's Day Special
I started this website http://www.kids-cooking-activities.com with a web builder called Site Build It. I choose them for all their added training, forums and learning videos. I didn't need to know or have to learn html and web design. When I bought my initial SBI site they were having a buy one get one for $100 sale. I jumped at that and 9 months later started the site, http://www.kids-sewing-projects.com.

That was a great time to buy SBI and since then my yearly renewal fee has paid for itself multiple times. SBI has several yearly sales and now is one of those times.
Anyone can create their own website. If you have a passion, hobby or just anything you love to do you can write about it and make a website. It is that simple.
Mother's Day Recipes
Fruit That Says I Love You Mom
1/4 Cup peach slices
1/4 Cup pineapple slices
1/4 Cup raspberries
1/4 Cup black berries
2 slices of fresh watermelon
Place the peaches onto a serving plate. Layer the pineapple slices over the peaches. Sprinkle the raspberries and black berries over the top. Using a heart shaped cookie cutter cut out 8 to 10 pieces of the watermelon. Place the watermelon cut outs around the outside edge of the plate.
*Add or substitute whatever fruit you have available or whatever is Mom's favorite. This is something any kid can put together for their mom.
Deluxe Grilled Cheese
2 Tablespoons butter
2 pieces of thick bread
1 slice of Cheddar cheese
3 slices hickory smoked bacon, cooked crisp
2 slices of sweet red bell pepper
1 slice of Swiss cheese
Spread the butter on one side of each piece of bread. Place one slice of bread in a small skillet over medium heat. Add the slice of Cheddar cheese. Place the bacon on top of the Cheddar cheese. Lay the bell pepper slices over the bacon. Add the slice of Swiss cheese over the pepper slices. Place the second piece of bread, butter side up on the top. Grill for 3 minutes, turn and continue grilling an additional 3 minutes or until browned and the cheese has begun to melt.
