Lesson 9

For today's Kids
Cooking Lessons please
choose one of the following kid's recipes below. Your assistant chef
will practice stirring.
This is something that is easy for them to help
out with no matter what you are cooking in the kitchen.
If you are ever
in the predicament where you can't find an appropriate task for them
and they want to help you cook, stirring is always a good option.
Practice Stirring
Guacamole
2 avocados
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 tomato chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt
Have an adult cut the avocado in half and remove the pit. Using a
spoon, scoop the
avocado out of the shell and place in a bowl. Child can mash with fork.
Add in lemon juice, chopped tomato and salt. Stir together and serve
immediately with tortilla chips.
Jell-O
Have your assistant chef help you pick out the
flavor and stir Jell-O
as directed on the package. Let your chef do the stirring and add in
chopped strawberries, peaches or other fruit, if desired.
