Lesson 10
For
today's kids cooking lessons your chef-in-training will be learning
about using the microwave. What kid in the kitchen
doesn't look at the microwave like a forbidden toy that they can't play
with?
Kids Cooking Lessons Part 1: Using the Microwave
As many other things in
the kitchen the microwave is fascinating but they must learn and
understand how to correctly use it.

Tip:
Place your microwave at counter height not above their head.
This
will make it safer and easier for them to
use.
Combine this lesson with this
teaching kids to use a microwave tutorial.
Make sure you give your chef these
key points
in
microwave
safety.
- Using microwave safe dishes. Show them what is safe and
isn’t
safe to use in the microwave (for example: no metal utensils or metal
bowls in the microwave!!)
- Instruct
them on using pot holders to take bowls out of the microwave.
- Show
your chef how to operate your
microwave. (many microwaves work differently)
