chef-in-training how to use the can opener. Whenever you need this job
done around the house call them in to help. The more practice the
better.
Part 1: Using a Can Opener

There
are many different
types of can openers. If you have a hand
held one and an electrical one show them all methods.
Then
have them
prepare the easy meal idea recipe below or any recipe that calls for
multiple cans of food to open.

2: Easy Meal Idea: Chicken Casserole
One can evaporated milk
One can cream celery soup
One can cream chicken soup
One can chicken noodles soup
Cooked Noodles
Chow Mein Noodles
chicken pieces cooked or canned white chicken
Have chef-in-training open cans of soup and add to saucepan, add milk
and flour. Mix together until well blended. Adult should heat soup
mixture for several minutes. Adult can cook and prepare noodles.
Chef-in-training can add chicken to soup mixture. Serve with hot cooked
noodles and top with chow mein noodles.
