Kids Cooking Lessons Recipes to Try

Hippie Healthy Fudge Balls

1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup honey or barley malt or brown rice syrup
1 cup instant powdered milk
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder or toasted wheat germ or 1/4 cup shredded coconut or chopped nuts or powdered sugar

In a medium sized bowl combine the peanut butter, raisins, honey and powdered milk. Stir well to form a thick dough. Break off small chunks of the dough and roll each one into a small ball. Roll the balls in cocoa powder or shredded coconut or wheat germ or chopped nuts, or powdered sugar or a few in each for a variety. Place the coated balls on a plate and allow them to dry out until serving time. Store leftovers someplace cool.

No Bake Scidaddle

2 Cups chow mein noodles
2 Cups mini marshmallows
3/4 Cup sugar
1/2 Cup milk
2 Tablespoon butter
6 oz. semi sweet chocolate chips
In large bowl add chow mein noodles and marshmallows. Set aside.
In saucepan add sugar, milk and butter. Stir and bring to a boil. Let the mixture come to a rapid boil. Take off stove and add chocolate chips. Stir until melted. Let stand 15 minutes. Pour over noodle mixture and stir until well coated. Drop onto a buttered cookie sheet or line a cookie sheet with wax paper. Chill in fridge.

1 Whole wheat English Muffin, Split
2 tbsp pizza sauce
2 Deli turkey breast slices
5 oz diced pineapple, drained
1/2 cup cheddar cheese

1. Place the oven rack in the centre position. Turn the oven on to 205 deg. Grease the baking sheet with cooking spray. Place the English muffin halves, cut-side up, on the baking sheet. Spread them with the the pizza sauce.

2. Cover the pizza sauce with the turkey slices. Fold them if necessary to fit the muffin. Top with the pineapple pieces. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling. Turn the oven off. Remove the baking sheet to the wire rack. Let stand for 2 minutes. Serves 1.
