Lesson 7
Today
in Kids Cooking Lessons let's explore all those kitchen appliances we
all seem to collect.
Part 1: Kids Using Kitchen
Appliances

What do you have in your kitchen? How about the
food processor? What do you use it for? The blender, kitchen mixer, all
those fancy gadgets and gizmos. Teach your Junior Chef what they do and
how to use them.
You can also add a field trip to
this lesson by visiting a specialty kitchen shop.

Part 2: Make a Recipe with
Your
Kitchen Appliance
Now that your Junior Chef has seen what some appliances are used for
let them make a simple smoothie or milkshake in the blender or using a
hand blender.
Simple Smoothie recipe
1 pint (2 cups) strawberries
1 cup milk
2 small containers strawberry yogurt
Place strawberries, milk and yogurt in blender. Blend together on high
for 30 seconds. Enjoy.
You don't have a blender or hand blender? Think
about what you do have
and let them make a recipe by using a different appliance. Perhaps
salsa in the food processor or food chopper. Rice in the rice cooker.
Fresh juice in the juicer. Whatever you have available.
Continue to let them learn and use different kitchen appliances you
might have from now on.
