Potato Skins with Toppings

Potato Skins with Toppings

by Paula

Kids can wrap potatoes in aluminum foil. Place potatoes in preheated 350 degree oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Allow to cool.

Cut potatoes in half and scrape flesh from inside potatoes. Leave a potato shell. Put into bowl for another use such as mashed potatoes.

Kids can add toppings unto the shell. Ideas could be:

  • shredded cheese
  • nacho cheese sauce
  • bacon bits
  • chopped ham
  • chopped broccoli
Put back into oven for 10 minutes until cheese is melted.
Then, add final toppings such as:
  • sour cream
  • salsa
  • guacamole
  • chopped onions
