Soft Pretzels

It takes a little work to make these but it is worth it. If you have younger chefs prepare the dough and have them help form the pretzels.

1 ½ Cup warm water
1 Tablespoon active dry yeast
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 Cup wheat flour
3 Cups white flour

beaten egg white
Add yeast and sugar in warm water and set aside. In mixing bowl add salt and flours. Blend in yeast water and mix together. Cover dough and let rise 30 minutes. Take off small balls of dough and roll into long ropes. Shape into a pretzel. Place on greased cookie sheet. Brush beaten egg white on tops. Bake in oven 450 degrees for 10 minutes or until golden.
