How to Make a Baggie Omelet
This omelet in a bag recipe is a good group cooking activity because each child can choose their own fillings.
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- Salt and pepper
- Shredded cheese
- Chopped ham, optional
- Chopped vegetables, optional
Directions
- Have an adult put a large pot of water on the stove and bring it to a boil.
- Put 2 eggs in a heavy-duty food-safe bag.
- Press the air out and seal the bag.
- Gently squeeze the bag to mix the eggs.
- Open the bag and add salt, pepper, cheese, ham, vegetables, or other omelet add-ins.
- Press the air out again and seal tightly.
- Fold the bag so the eggs stay near the bottom.
- Have an adult carefully place the sealed bag in boiling water.
- Boil for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the eggs are cooked through.
- Have an adult remove the bag from the water.
- Open the bag carefully and slide the omelet onto a plate.
