Cornflake Bars & Holiday Wreath Cookies
This simple peanut butter cornflake mixture can be used to make either classic cornflake bars or festive holiday wreath cookies.
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Yield: 12–16 bars or about 10 wreath cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup white corn syrup
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 8 cups corn flakes cereal
- Red and green candies (optional for wreath cookies)
Directions
- Place corn flakes in a large bowl.
- Combine sugar and corn syrup in a saucepan.
- Bring mixture to a boil, stirring until dissolved.
- Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter.
- Pour over corn flakes and stir gently until coated.
Cornflake Bars
- Spray a 13 x 9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- Press the mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
- Allow to cool and set.
- Cut into bars and serve.
Holiday Wreath Cookies
- Cover a cookie sheet with wax paper.
- Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the wax paper.
- Shape each portion into a wreath.
- Decorate with red and green candies.
- Allow to cool completely before serving.
