Homemade Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta or macaroni
  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 3 Tbsp flour
  • 1½ tsp mustard
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 cups evaporated milk
  • ¾ tsp Tabasco sauce
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Gouda cheese, shredded
  • ¾ cup Parmesan cheese
  • Bread crumbs (optional topping)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Whisk in flour, mustard, and salt until smooth and thickened.
  4. Slowly whisk in milk and Tabasco until smooth.
  5. Cook until sauce thickens slightly, then stir in cheeses until melted.
  6. Combine pasta and cheese sauce in a baking dish.
  7. Top with bread crumbs and bake at 350°F for 15- 20 minutes.
  8. Serve warm.
