classic baked macaroni and cheese made from scratch
with a creamy cheese sauce. A comforting family
favorite and a great cooking lesson for kids
learning sauces.

Ingredients
- 12 oz pasta or
macaroni
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 3 Tbsp flour
- 1½ tsp mustard
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 cups evaporated
milk
- ¾ tsp Tabasco sauce
- 2 cups cheddar
cheese, shredded
- 1 cup Gouda cheese,
shredded
- ¾ cup Parmesan
cheese
- Bread crumbs
(optional topping)
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions.
Drain and set aside.
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Whisk in flour, mustard, and salt until smooth
and thickened.
- Slowly whisk in milk and Tabasco until smooth.
- Cook until sauce thickens slightly, then stir in
cheeses until melted.
- Combine pasta and cheese sauce in a baking dish.
- Top with bread crumbs and bake at 350°F for 15-
20 minutes.
- Serve warm.
