By Kids
Cooking Activities
A
fizzy, creamy green punch made with lime sherbet and
lemon-lime soda. It’s an instant party drink for St.
Patrick’s Day—kids love watching the sherbet float

Prep: 5 minutes | Yield:
About 10–12 cups (8–10
servings)
Ingredients
- 1 quart lime sherbet
- 2 quarts Sprite (or
ginger ale)
- Ice (optional)
- Lime slices
(optional garnish)
Instructions
- Chill the soda
ahead of time for the best fizzy punch.
- Pour Sprite (or
ginger ale) into a punch bowl or large pitcher.
- Scoop lime
sherbet into the soda. (It will float and get
foamy!)
- Serve
immediately while it’s frothy and cold. Add ice
only if needed.
Kid-Friendly Tips
- Kids can scoop sherbet and help stir gently
- Pour slowly to keep the fizz from bubbling
over
- Let kids garnish cups with lime slices or
green sprinkles on the rim
Fun Variations
- Extra creamy: Use 1 quart
sherbet + 1–2 cups vanilla ice cream
- More tart: Add 1–2
tablespoons lime juice
- Rainbow punch: Add a few
scoops of orange or raspberry sherbet for swirls
- “Shamrock float” cups: Make
individual servings with 1 scoop sherbet + soda
Notes
Sherbet melts quickly, so this
punch is best made right before serving. If it
sits too long, add a fresh scoop of sherbet to
bring back the foam.
