Lime Sherbet Punch (St. Patrick’s Day "Green Punch")

By

Prep: 5 minutes | Yield: About 10–12 cups (8–10 servings)

Ingredients

  • 1 quart lime sherbet
  • 2 quarts Sprite (or ginger ale)
  • Ice (optional)
  • Lime slices (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Chill the soda ahead of time for the best fizzy punch.
  2. Pour Sprite (or ginger ale) into a punch bowl or large pitcher.
  3. Scoop lime sherbet into the soda. (It will float and get foamy!)
  4. Serve immediately while it’s frothy and cold. Add ice only if needed.

Kid-Friendly Tips

  • Kids can scoop sherbet and help stir gently
  • Pour slowly to keep the fizz from bubbling over
  • Let kids garnish cups with lime slices or green sprinkles on the rim

Fun Variations

  • Extra creamy: Use 1 quart sherbet + 1–2 cups vanilla ice cream
  • More tart: Add 1–2 tablespoons lime juice
  • Rainbow punch: Add a few scoops of orange or raspberry sherbet for swirls
  • “Shamrock float” cups: Make individual servings with 1 scoop sherbet + soda

Notes

Sherbet melts quickly, so this punch is best made right before serving. If it sits too long, add a fresh scoop of sherbet to bring back the foam.
