1 mug cake

- 4 tablespoons
all-purpose flour
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons
unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons milk

vegetable oil

chips
Optional Toppings

cream
- Extra chocolate
chips or sprinkles
Instructions
- Spray a large
microwave-safe mug with cooking spray.
- Add flour,
sugar, and cocoa to the mug. Stir to combine the
dry ingredients.
- Add milk, oil,
and egg. Stir gently until smooth and well
combined.
- Sprinkle
chocolate chips on top and give the batter one
last gentle stir.
- Microwave on
HIGH for 3 minutes (cake will rise, then settle
slightly).
- Let stand for 1
minute before eating (mug and cake will be hot).
- Top with ice
cream or whipped cream and extra chocolate chips
if desired.
Kid-Friendly Tips
- Kids can measure and mix ingredients right in
the mug
- Adults should handle removing the hot mug from
the microwave
- Use a large mug so the cake doesn’t overflow
while cooking
Easy Variations
- Add 1 tablespoon peanut butter to the batter
for a chocolate PB mug cake
- Swap chocolate chips for mini marshmallows
- Mix in a pinch of cinnamon for a warm "hot
cocoa" flavor
Notes
Microwave wattages vary. If
the center looks underdone, microwave in 10- 15
second bursts. Avoid overcooking (it can turn
rubbery). Let it rest- carryover heat finishes the
center.
