Ingredients

  • 3 cups rice
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 3 cups water or chicken broth
  • 1 cup chopped onions, optional
  • 1 cup chopped celery, optional

Directions

  1. Brown the rice in butter and oil in a frying pan.
  2. Add chopped onions or celery if using and cook until the rice looks glassy.
  3. Add water or chicken broth.
  4. Cover and cook 20 minutes, or until rice is tender.
