Ingredients
- 12 whole-grain crackers
- 1 medium apple, thinly sliced
- 3 tablespoons peanut butter or sunflower seed butter
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
- 1 tablespoon raisins or mini chocolate chips (optional)
Directions
- Spread a small amount of peanut butter or sunflower seed butter onto each cracker.
- Top half of the crackers with a thin apple slice.
- Drizzle with a little honey if desired.
- Sprinkle with raisins or mini chocolate chips for extra flavor.
- Place another cracker on top to make a sandwich and serve immediately.
Kid Chef Tip: Try different apples to compare sweet and tart flavors. This is a fun way to learn how one ingredient can change the taste of the entire snack.
Food Safety: Thin apple slices are easier for young children to bite. An adult should cut the apple, and honey should not be served to children younger than 1 year old.
