Ingredients
- 1 lb broccoli, cut
into florets
- ¼ cup water
- 1 teaspoon lemon
zest, finely grated
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black
pepper
Optional Cheesy Topping
- ½ cup shredded
cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Place broccoli
florets in a microwave-safe casserole dish.
- Add ¼ cup
water. Cover with a microwave-safe lid or vented
cover.
- Microwave on
HIGH for 3–5 minutes, or until broccoli is
bright green and tender-crisp (cook longer if
you like softer broccoli).
- Carefully drain
off the water.
- Season with
lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Toss gently to
coat.
Optional Cheesy Broccoli
- Sprinkle
broccoli with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Microwave 1–2
minutes, or until cheese is melted.
