Baked Candy Apple Surprise (Microwave)

Ingredients

  • 4 Red Delicious apples, peeled and cored halfway through
  • 16 red hot candy pieces
  • 8 miniature marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Place prepared apples upright in a microwave-safe casserole dish.
  2. Drop a few red hot candies into the center of each apple, then add 1 marshmallow on top.
  3. Cover the dish loosely with plastic wrap or waxed paper.
  4. Microwave for 7 minutes, or until apples begin to soften.
  5. Carefully uncover, add another layer of red hot candies and marshmallows to each apple.
  6. Re-cover and microwave for an additional 5 minutes, or until apples are tender.
  7. Let cool several minutes before serving (filling will be very hot).
