Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts
- ½ cup barbecue sauce
- ¼ cup cheddar
cheese, shredded
- 2- 3 tablespoons
bacon bits (optional)
Instructions
- Place chicken
breasts in a microwave-safe dish in a single
layer.
- Spoon barbecue
sauce over the chicken to coat the tops.
- Cover dish
(microwave-safe lid or vented cover) and
microwave for 4–5 minutes.
- Sprinkle
chicken with cheddar cheese and bacon bits (if
using).
- Microwave for
another 3- 4 minutes, or until chicken is cooked
through.
- Let rest 2- 3
minutes before serving.

- Kids can measure sauce and sprinkle cheese on
top
- Adults should handle placing/removing the hot
dish from the microwave
- Teach kids food safety: chicken must be fully
cooked
Notes
Microwave times vary by
wattage and chicken thickness. For safety, chicken
should reach 165°F in the thickest part. If
needed, microwave in 1-minute increments until
done.
