Sheet Pan Nachos

A family-style sheet pan nachos recipe with seasoned beef, cheese, tortilla chips, and fresh toppings.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 to 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/4 pounds ground beef, turkey, or chicken
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning or homemade taco seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 large bag tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese
  • Salsa or pico de gallo
  • Sliced green onions
  • Chopped black olives
  • Chopped avocado or guacamole
  • Sliced jalapeño, optional for older kids or adults

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add onion and garlic. Cook until softened.
  5. Add ground meat and taco seasoning. Cook until the meat is browned and fully cooked.
  6. Drain extra grease, if needed.
  7. Spread tortilla chips in an even layer on the baking sheet.
  8. Spoon cooked meat over the chips.
  9. Sprinkle cheese over the top.
  10. Bake for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the cheese melts.
  11. Remove from oven and add salsa, pico de gallo, green onions, olives, avocado, and any other toppings.
Kid-Friendly Tip: Give each child a corner or section of the sheet pan to decorate with toppings after baking.
