Manti-Inspired Ravioli with Yogurt Sauce
My husband spent some time in Turkey and loved mantı served with yogurt sauce. We created our own easy family version using meat-filled ravioli. My kids often eat the ravioli without the yogurt sauce, while for special occasions we sometimes make the ravioli from scratch.
Ingredients
- 1 package meat-filled ravioli, fresh or frozen
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon parsley
- Pinch of salt
Red Pepper Butter
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika or Turkish red pepper flakes (pul biber)
Directions
- Cook the ravioli according to the package directions until tender. Drain carefully.
- In a small bowl, stir together the yogurt, garlic, parsley and salt.
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Stir in the paprika or red pepper flakes and cook for about 20-30 seconds.
- Spoon the garlic yogurt over the warm ravioli, then drizzle the red pepper butter over the top. Sprinkle with parsley or dried mint, if desired.
Kid Cooking Tip: Kids can measure and stir together the yogurt sauce while an adult handles the boiling water and hot ravioli.
