Steak Marinade
Marinating steak before cooking helps add flavor while keeping the meat juicy. This simple marinade works equally well for beef kabobs, grilled steaks, and even chicken.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions, divided
- 3 tablespoons lime juice
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- Several dashes hot sauce
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 pounds boneless sirloin steak
Directions
- Combine all marinade ingredients in a large zip-top bag.
- Add the steak and seal the bag.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, turning occasionally.
- Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the used marinade.
- Grill or bake until the steak reaches your preferred doneness.
Food Safety Reminder
Always marinate meat in the refrigerator, never on the kitchen counter. Throw away any marinade that has touched raw meat unless it is boiled before using as a sauce.
