Stuffed Strawberries

Creamy stuffed strawberries make a fun snack, dessert, or party treat kids can help prepare. Choose a cream cheese filling with granola or nuts, or make a quick whipped cream version with melted chocolate.

Ingredients

Option 1: Cream Cheese Stuffed Strawberries

  • About 25 large strawberries
  • 3 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granola or chopped nuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Option 2: Whipped Cream Chocolate Stuffed Strawberries

  • Whole strawberries, washed and hulled
  • Whipped cream or marshmallow fluff
  • 1 cup chocolate chips, melted

Directions

For the Cream Cheese Version

  1. Wash and dry the strawberries.
  2. Slice the tops off each strawberry.
  3. Cut two small slits in the narrow end of each strawberry to create 4 wedges.
  4. Chop 3 to 4 strawberries into small pieces.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, granola or nuts, vanilla, and chopped strawberries.
  6. Stir until blended well.
  7. Fill the center of each strawberry with the cream cheese mixture.
  8. Serve immediately or chill until ready to serve.

For the Whipped Cream Chocolate Version

  1. Wash the strawberries and gently pat them dry.
  2. Remove the hulls from the strawberries.
  3. At the tip of each strawberry, make a small slit in each direction to open the end slightly.
  4. Stuff the opening with whipped cream or marshmallow fluff.
  5. Drizzle melted chocolate over the strawberries.
  6. Serve soon after filling.
Tip: Mini chocolate chips, shredded coconut, sprinkles, or crushed graham crackers can also be added for extra flavor.
