Magic Birthday Cake Ideas

An easy bunny in a hat cake. Don’t be fooled. This idea is easier than it sounds.

Take four to six round 7” cakes and stack them, using frosting between each layer. Take one 9” cake layer and add that to the top. Frost the cake to look like a black top hat. Mold two bunny ears from rice krispie treat mix and push them into the top of the cake. Frost them white and pink to look like ears, and you’re done!

We frosted with chocolate poured fondant. Note: we would use chocolate for the bottom layer next time as well as the top and we would use black fondant to cover the hat for a smooth finish. Live and learn!

Create flat handkerchiefs out of modeling chocolate or fondant. Push the ends together and twist slightly to give them a flowing motion. Stick the string of kerchiefs to the cake leading out from the hole in the hat.
