Basic Balsamic Vinaigrette

This simple homemade vinaigrette is a great starting point for creating your own salad dressings. The combination of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey, and garlic creates a flavorful dressing that pairs well with green salads, pasta salads, vegetables, and grain bowls.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 1 to 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a glass bowl or a container with a tight-fitting lid. Whisk together or shake vigorously until thoroughly blended. Taste and adjust seasonings as desired. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to use. Shake again before serving if separation occurs.
Yield: About 1 cup dressing.
