Chocolate-Topped Pumpkin Bread Pudding

Pumpkin Bread Pudding
Pumpkin bread pudding is a delicious fall dessert that transforms day-old bread into a warm, comforting treat. Pumpkin puree, cinnamon, and chocolate chips give this recipe plenty of seasonal flavor.
Serves: 6-8
Ingredients
- 3 1/2 cups bread cubes
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 cup miniature chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease an 8x8-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, pumpkin puree, vanilla, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
- Place bread cubes into the prepared baking dish.
- Pour the pumpkin mixture evenly over the bread cubes.
- Gently press the bread into the liquid so it can absorb the mixture.
- Let stand for 15 minutes.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top and lightly press them into the bread mixture.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until puffed, golden brown, and set in the center.
- Cool for 10 minutes before serving.

- Whisk the pumpkin mixture.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
Serving Ideas
- Dust with powdered sugar.
- Top with whipped cream.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream.

Tip: Slightly stale bread works best because it absorbs more of the pumpkin custard mixture.
