Savory Penguin Wraps

Ingredients

  • 1 soft flour tortilla
  • 1 slice deli turkey or chicken
  • 1 slice provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 1 whole black olive
  • 1 baby carrot
  • 1 tablespoon cream cheese or hummus
  • Toothpicks (optional)

Directions

  1. Lay the tortilla flat on a clean work surface.
  2. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese or hummus over the tortilla.
  3. Place the deli meat and cheese on top.
  4. Roll the tortilla tightly into a log.
  5. Slice into 1 to 1½-inch pinwheel sections.
  6. Cut the olive in half lengthwise.
  7. Stand one olive half upright against each pinwheel to create a penguin head.
  8. Cut the baby carrot into small triangles and place one triangle on each olive as a beak.
  9. Use tiny dots of cream cheese for eyes if desired.
  10. Secure with a toothpick if serving on a party tray.

Yield: 6 to 8 penguin pinwheels
