Sweet Fritos No-Bake Dessert
This sweet and salty no-bake dessert combines crunchy Fritos corn chips, peanut butter, caramel-like syrup, and melted chocolate chips into an easy dessert bar kids love. It is perfect for parties, potlucks, and quick family treats.
Ingredients
- 1 cup white Karo syrup
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 (9-ounce) bag Fritos corn chips
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
Directions
Lightly spray a 13 x 9-inch baking dish with nonstick spray. Spread the Fritos evenly into the bottom of the dish.
In a small saucepan, combine the Karo syrup and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture just begins to boil and the sugar has dissolved.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the peanut butter until smooth.
Pour the peanut butter mixture evenly over the Fritos, gently coating the chips.
Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly across the top while the mixture is still warm so the chocolate softens slightly.
Allow the dessert to cool completely before cutting into squares and serving.
Yield: About 12 to 16 bars.
