Spicy Peaches
These Spicy Peaches are a sweet-and-tangy fruit side dish flavored with cinnamon, cloves, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar. The peaches become even more flavorful after chilling overnight, making them perfect for holiday meals, picnics, potlucks, or Southern-inspired dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 (29-ounce) can peach slices, undrained
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
Directions
- Pour the peaches and their juice into a large saucepan.
- Add the cinnamon sticks, cloves, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar.
- Stir until the ingredients are combined.
- Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool.
- Transfer to a covered container.
- Refrigerate for several hours or overnight.
- Serve chilled.
Yield: 6 to 8 servings
