Quick Chicken Cordon Bleu Rolls

Quick Chicken Cordon Bleu Rolls

These easy Chicken Cordon Bleu Rolls wrap chicken, ham, and melted Swiss cheese inside flaky crescent dough. They're a kid-friendly shortcut to traditional Chicken Cordon Bleu and work well for an easy dinner, after-school snack, or kids lunch idea.

Chicken Cordon Bleu crescent rolls with ham and Swiss cheese

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: About 12-15 minutes
Serves: 8

Ingredients

  • 1 (8-ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 triangles) or homemade crescent dough
  • 8 slices deli ham
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 8 fully cooked breaded chicken tenders, thawed if frozen

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F or the temperature directed on your crescent dough package. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Separate the crescent dough into 8 triangles.
  3. Place one slice of ham and one slice of Swiss cheese over each triangle. Fold or trim them as needed so they fit mostly within the dough.
  4. Place one fully cooked chicken tender across the wide end of each crescent triangle.
  5. Roll the dough around the filling toward the pointed end. Pinch the seams and ends together to help keep the melted cheese inside.
  6. Place the rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or according to the crescent dough package directions, until the rolls are puffed and golden brown and the chicken is heated through.
  8. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Lunch Box Tip

These rolls can be made ahead and refrigerated after cooling. Pack them cold with fruit and vegetables, or reheat at home for a quick lunch. Keep packed chicken rolls cold with an insulated lunch bag and ice pack until lunchtime.

Easy Variations

Try cheddar, mozzarella, or provolone instead of Swiss cheese. You can also spread a very thin layer of honey mustard or Dijon mustard over the dough before adding the ham and cheese.
