You Will Need

  • 1 banana (dog body)

  • Chocolate chips or mini marshmallows (eyes)
  • Cashew halves or peanut halves (ears)
  • Peanut butter, Nutella, cream cheese, or frosting (to attach decorations)

Directions

Place a peeled banana on a plate. Spread a thin layer of peanut butter, cream cheese, chocolate spread, or frosting over the top to resemble fur. Add pretzel sticks for the legs and tail. Attach chocolate chips or mini marshmallows for the eyes and cashew or peanut halves for the ears. Create your own unique puppy design and enjoy.
Yield: 1 banana dog.

Kid Cooking Tip

Kids can design their own puppy faces and choose different toppings to make each banana dog unique.

Allergy-Friendly Option

Use cream cheese, sunflower seed butter, or frosting instead of peanut butter. Sliced strawberries or raisins can be used in place of nuts for the ears.

Learning Extension

Try creating different dog breeds by changing the ears, eyes, and tail. This activity works well with pet themes, animal studies, and creative kitchen projects.
