Hershey Kiss Cupcakes
These rich chocolate Hershey Kiss cupcakes are soft, moist, and topped with creamy frosting and chocolate kisses. They make fun party cupcakes for birthdays, holidays, bake sales, and celebrations kids will love helping decorate.
Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup Hershey's Special Dark cocoa powder
- 2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 2 cups chocolate frosting
- Hershey Kisses for topping
- Optional sprinkles
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line muffin tins with paper or foil cupcake liners. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes. Carefully stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thin.
Fill cupcake liners about halfway full with batter. Bake for 22 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow cupcakes to cool completely.
Frost each cupcake with chocolate frosting and decorate with sprinkles if desired. Top each cupcake with a Hershey Kiss before serving.
Yield: About 36 cupcakes.
