Haystack Candies
These super easy haystack candies are crunchy, sweet, and fun to make with kids. Chow mein noodles are coated in melted chocolate and butterscotch chips to create adorable no-bake candy clusters perfect for holidays, parties, and snack trays.
Ingredients
- 1 (12 ounce) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 (12 ounce) bag butterscotch chips
- 18 ounces chow mein noodles
- Chopped cashews
Directions
In a heat-safe bowl over low heat or using a double boiler, melt the chocolate chips and butterscotch chips together, stirring frequently until smooth. Be careful not to burn the mixture. Stir thoroughly until completely melted and combined. Add the chow mein noodles and chopped cashews and mix gently until evenly coated. Turn off the heat. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto wax paper-lined trays or baking sheets. Continue until all the mixture has been used. Allow the candies to harden overnight on the counter or refrigerate until firm.
Yield: About 24 haystack candies depending on size.
