Patriotic Jam Star Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 roll sugar cookie dough or homemade sugar cookie dough
- Blueberry jam
- Strawberry jam
- Confectioners' sugar
- Star-shaped cookie cutters
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly grease a baking sheet. Roll the cookie dough to about 1/4-inch thickness and cut into star shapes using cookie cutters. Place the cookies onto the prepared baking sheet. Press a thumbprint gently into the center of each cookie without pressing all the way through the dough. Fill each indentation with blueberry or strawberry jam. Bake for approximately 10 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Sprinkle warm cookies with confectioners' sugar and allow them to cool completely on the baking sheet before serving.
Yield: About 18 to 24 cookies depending on cutter size.
