Ice Cream Bread
This easy ice cream bread is a fun baking recipe made with melted ice cream and self-rising flour. Different ice cream flavors create different breads, making this a creative family baking project kids love helping make.
Ingredients
- 2 cups melted ice cream (about 1 pint), any flavor except chocolate
- 1 1/4 cups self-rising flour
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease or butter a loaf pan.
In a mixing bowl, stir together the melted ice cream and self-rising flour until well combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top evenly.
Bake for about 40 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Brush the top lightly with melted butter or oil while still warm. Cover with a towel and allow the bread to cool before slicing and serving.
Homemade Cinnamon Butter
- 1/2 cup cream or half-and-half
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
Cinnamon Butter Directions
Pour the cream or half-and-half into a tightly sealed container with a lid. Add the cinnamon sugar and salt.
Add two sterilized marbles to help churn the butter. Secure the lid tightly.
Shake the container until you no longer hear the marbles moving. Do not continue shaking after the butter forms.
Remove the marbles carefully before serving. Spread the homemade cinnamon butter onto slices of ice cream bread.
Yield: 1 loaf.
