Chocolate Peanut Butter No-Bake Cookies

These classic no-bake cookies combine chocolate, peanut butter, and oatmeal into an easy treat that doesn't require turning on the oven. They're a favorite for kids because they're simple to make and fun to scoop onto wax paper while still warm.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 3 cups quick or old-fashioned oats
Directions
Place the sugar, butter, and milk in a medium saucepan and stir to combine. Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently. When the mixture comes to a full boil, continue cooking and stirring for 1 to 3 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla. Add the peanut butter, cocoa powder, and oats. Stir until thoroughly combined. Line a baking sheet or cutting board with wax paper. Drop spoonfuls or ice cream scoops of the mixture onto the wax paper. Allow the cookies to cool and set before serving.
Yield: About 24 cookies.
